According to the National Retail Federation, for the 2025 - 2026 school year, families with school-aged children are expected to spend an average of $858 on school supplies per child. Public school is not free as parents can spend an additional $650 to $3,000 per student per year on lunch, transportation, technology fees and other school expenses.
Your donations matter to families for whom this burden impacts the academic experience during an impressionable and critical time for young scholars.
A note about our donation platform.
Our donation and sponsorship collection platform is called Zeffy, and it is fantastic because it was created for non-profits, so we don't incur credit card fees, and it is entirely free for us to use!
An option at checkout defaults to add a donation to the platform itself to keep Zeffy free for non-profits. If you do not wish to add an extra contribution for Zeffy, please uncheck that box or select “other” and select $0 contribution to avoid donating to Zeffy on top of your Sole Scholars Gift.
